Our History

1875-1890

The origins

During the wine-growing expansion of Tomelloso — one of the most industrialized areas in the country at that time — the figure of Valentín Casajuana emerged, belonging to an entrepreneurial family deeply involved in the production of wine, spirits, and brandies. His name appears among the first industrialists in the sector, laying the foundations of what years later would become CASAJUANA.

1890

Founding of CASAJUANA

CASAJUANA is officially established, dedicated to the production of wines, spirits, and brandies. From its beginnings, the company stands out for its innovative spirit, industrial vision, and its ability to combine tradition with technology.

1900-1915

The great industrial growth

According to historical records, CASAJUANA established itself among the most prominent alcohol producers in Tomelloso:

It appears in the list of industrial companies (1900–1935) as an active and leading business in the sector.

It took part in the modernization of the industry and in the expansion of La Mancha spirits into national markets.

This period marked CASAJUANA’s transformation into a key economic pillar of the municipality.

1915

Two wineries with a capacity of 16,000 hectolitres

In the book “El Obrero de Tomelloso. Vida y legado de un precursor 1870–1949”, it is documented that Valentín Casajuana operated two active wineries in 1915. He also appears as one of the industrialists with the highest production capacity: 16,000 hl, an extraordinary figure for the time. This places CASAJUANA among the largest wine and spirits producers in Castilla-La Mancha.

1920-1935

resistance, leadership, and consolidation

During the turbulent decades of the first third of the 20th century — industrial alcohol crises, legislative changes, external competition, and social transformations — many companies disappeared. However, CASAJUANA endured, maintaining continuous industrial activity. This resilience became a defining historical hallmark of the brand.

1940-1980

Family tradition and brandy craftsmanship

During the turbulent decades of the first third of the 20th century — industrial alcohol crises, legislative changes, external competition, and social transformations — many companies disappeared. However, CASAJUANA endured, maintaining continuous industrial activity. This resilience became a defining historical hallmark of the brand.

1980

rebirth of CASAJUANA brandy

In 1980, the family made a strategic shift:
CASAJUANA became a brand specialized in high-quality brandy, elevating its century-old tradition toward more exclusive and aged expressions.

1991-2020

Alliance with Bodegas Centro Españolas

CASAJUANA integrates its aging process within the Bodegas Centro Españolas complex, combining modern technology, large ageing facilities, and centuries of tradition. The traditional facilities become the heart of CASAJUANA’s solera aging system.

2020-hoy

the new era
of luxury

The international demand for CASAJUANA and the limited production of its XO (Extra Old), 25-year, and 100-year brandies position it within the ultra-premium segment, highly sought after by lovers of brandy and exclusive spirits. The brand is established as the luxury brandy of La Mancha, a direct heir to an industrial legacy documented since 1890 and active for more than 130 years.
